Host A Party
May is the perfect month for tea parties! Our target date is always the Saturday before Mothers’ Day. Take full advantage of this meaningful time of year and include mothers AND daughters, as well as grandmothers, aunts, and cousins.
If you would like to participate in the Blue Hydrangea Tea Party™ campaign by hosting an awareness tea party, we encourage you to contact the ovarian cancer awareness agency of your choice for materials to share with your guests. You may also choose to raise funds for this organization. Please get permission from them prior to doing so, however. Any fundraising for an organization should be approved by that organization in advance of your invitations being sent out. Your tea party invitation should clearly note this so that your guests will come prepared to make a donation to this organization. It is very important that you follow the organization’s guidelines for 3rd party fundraising; we cannot endorse any kind of fundraising on behalf of these organizations.
Blue Hydrangea Tea Party™ events can be large or small and sometimes include a guest speaker, either a representative from an awareness organization, a medical professional, or a survivor. A full program, including games and doorprizes, even memorial ceremonies, are sometimes on the agenda. Or you may choose to host an informal affair around your kitchen table! This is up to you. There is no right way or wrong way to host a BHTP event. The most important thing to remember is that your event should be enjoyable for everyone, as you share this vital information about ovarian cancer!
